OOM: Beach. Baby. Bianca....yeah

Ramon's more than happy to disappear while Arithon and Random do their thing with magic and souls. He's a little less comfortable with having to entertain a kid while they do so.

Hmmm. Beach. There's a lot of sand. He has no blanket to put the kid on and has the vague notion that putting him down without one would be Frowned Upon. Also, how does one put sunscreen on a baby that's wearing clothes anyway.

Ramon does the sensible thing. He stands and...flails waits for a solution to present itself.

Well, they are in Australia, and Australia has metric. And if he says Martin is her son, she will...

She'll leave that in reserve.

"Remember? Exercise and fresh air are your friends." Bianca informs him, brightly, flitting along aside him.

She gets a Look.

'We weren't talking about this kind of exercise, as I recall.'

Walking tends to bore him. But there are women, so its OK, at least the walk has a point at the end of it. And Random at the other end of the trek back.

He turns his head to check that Martin hasn't thrown up down his shoulder or anything - well, you never know - and says to him, 'Dribble on the coat and I'll drop you in the sea.'

He feels he can get away with that sort of thing when Random isn't around.

Well, Bianca isn't going to comment. She's just going to concentrate on walking, on the heat and the sun and not think about whatever mess Arithon has got himself into this time.

He eyes her surreptitiously from behind the baby's head, but can't be bothered working out what's wrong. So he just says,

'What's up?' because really, that saves a whole lot of time and effort.

She doesn't answer him for a moment, just watches her feet sink into the hot sand.

"Just...I have no idea what Arithon is planning to do with that, "pause, "girl. Once he gets her soul back."

He raises an eyebrow and then stares down the beach.

'Well, what do you suppose he's going to do? He'll find someone to look after her or bring her up himself. You know him.'

Ramon doesn't know anything about Tool, other than the lack of soul. Nothing about trauma or what she's been through. Therefore, to him, she's just another kid.

Probably just another kid even if he did know, but there you go.

"Si, I do." A little shortly.

Someone hasn't really been asked what she thinks about all this yet, clearly.

He sighs, and looks at the women in the water. Nice view.

'So he didn't ask you. What do you expect? You'll probably have to get used to this sort of thing.'

Bianca doesn't honestly notice the women. Unlike just about every other vampire in her world, she's perfectly straight.

She pauses.

"Nope."

It's probably a good thing that she's not eyeing up the chicks. If he noticed she was, he'd have a whole host of images he probably shouldn't have.

As is it, the baby is shifted to his other shoulder and he frowns at her. 'What does that mean? No, you're not going to get used to it? Or no, he didn't ask you first?'

He really, really shouldn't read the two books about her, then.

"He didn't ask me."

He probably shouldn't. No, definitely shouldn't. Thinking things about your best friend's wife would be bad.

As it is, he just says, 'Well like I said, you'll have to get used to it. When he sees things like that, he'll never be able to let them go. You know that. You chose to marry him so you'll just have to put up with it.'

Tactful. Yes.

"Not the stupidity - I get that. Just...the girl isn't staying with us. She gets her soul back, and then we find someone to look after her."

'Is that you saying that? Or what Arithon's said already?'

It's an important detail, he feels.

'Because he's not about to just toss her out on her own, you know? He'll have to find someone he trusts to take care of her and there might not be many of them around.'

She stops, and takes his arm.

"It's me saying it, but, Ramon. Arithon isn't in a position to take care of anyone who is traumatized. His world does that to him already." Then she steps back.

"Arithon hasn't spoken to me yet. And, I know. But, this is what happens when you ask people who have to trust you what's wrong - they actually have a tendency to answer."

He's rather surprised by the sudden touch at his arm, and the rather honest answer from her. He's accustomed to her bitching at him in a - mostly - humourous way, not actually being real at him.

He's quite glad when she lets go.

'I know,' he replies, in a more serious tone. 'He shouldn't be subjected to her every day, it'll hurt him badly. But what do you suggest? You'll have to find someone quickly then because if they're successful up there, there's a kid who'll have her soul back any time now and the two of you will be stuck with her.'

She snorts.

"I haven't had time to think of anything, yet. But I'm working on it. Now. You wanted to go and attract the nice Australian girls with your boyfriend's baby, or not?"

He grins, glad that she doesn't seem to be about to go all deep on him after all.

'Well, having you with me rather limits opportunity, I have to say.' He looks around and smiles at a couple of girls who are watching the baby with melty expressions.

'But you know the one great thing about kids? They attract women like nothing else. Well, babies anyway, as long as they don't scream.'

He glares at Martin to check that screaming is not about to occur. It seems unlikely.

'Won't have to do a thing but walk with him, you'll see.'

Bianca just rolls her eyes.

He laughs at her, then gives her a knowing look as two girls squee their way over and start cooing over the baby. Ramon looks rather smug as he tells them that, no, the boy isn't his but he just likes taking him out because yes babies are adorable and especially this one.

They're wearing bikinis. Ramon looks rather like the cat that got all the cream from about seven different universes.

Bianca, predictably, is ignored.

Bianca just taps her fingers on her crossed arms. And if she's being ignored, then her starting to be annoyed expression should be ignored, yes?

"Just likes taking him indeed." She mutters, just loud enough for them all to hear.

There's a glance at her, at some point, as a few more women come over because no one can resist a baby. And especially not one this cute, right? And if he notices that she looks a little annoyed then, what? Not his problem, right?

Safe to say he's in his element, especially when one mentions that she loves his accent. He grins at her and studiously ignores the comment from Bianca although he does roll his eyes humourously at the women to let them know that she shouldn't be paid attention to.

He freezes imperceptibly then slowly turns his head to her with a clear expression of You are so going to die...

The bimbos look a little confused. Ramon assumes that they haven't really got the brain power to process that - yes, he's a total sexist at times - and tries to brush past it.

Oh, come on. He didn't really expect her to let that comment about becoming a hormonal milkbag slide, did he?

She sighs, just enough to be perfectly annoyed and long-suffering. Walking over, she takes Martin out of Ramon's frozen arms.

"Come on, sweetie, lets go for a walk and leave daddy to chat up the pretty girls, okay?" Giving them all a smile, she hitches her bag around and starts walking back up the beach.
