OOM: Business taken care of
He's well used to sitting at home and waiting for news on how business has gone. It's been that way for a long time. This is different though, because this is Random out there and getting his hands dirty and while he knows that the man is good, it's still a worry.
So he's sitting at the kitchen table with a bottle of Scotch and impatient fingers tapping on the tabletop. He knows Mal did her bit and is fine. But what of Random?
no subject
'Why? I didn't realise you were in such a bad mood.'
He's not entirely sure what Random means.
no subject
His arms wrap around Ramon, as he walks him towards the shower.
"I love the bar. Love it. I've been there over a year now, you know? But playing nice, it gets frustrating."
no subject
Has to be pointed out, in case he was wondering. Ramon turns the shower on and steps in, tugging Random after him.
'I know how you feel. It's a pain in the ass not getting to do what you want.' He's hated the restriction, but the bar is better than the alternative at home at the moment.
'Why didn't you say so? There are a heap of things you can do in Texorami, as long as you promise me you're not going to do something stupid and get hurt.'
He watches the blood wash down from Random's hair, checking his throat to see whether he broke the skin or not with his biting.
no subject
"You do know how I feel. But baby, it's a little different. You do your best not to be violent. But people trust me. Rely on me. See me as a good, stable man on whom to lean. I'm not just not allowing myself, I'm living that way. Conscious decision, but still, it chafes."
Frustrating, frustrating.
"I will, however, take you up on that. I'll come to you when I want to do something, and if you need any precise work done ever, you have me. Consider the security tapes my resume, okay?"
no subject
'They sound interesting.'
He's not kidding, they do. He's looking forward to seeing what Random did. As for comments about the bar, he shrugs one shoulder.
'Well, you chose to be nice. And you are nice, sometimes. There's just more to you than that but you don't show many people and they're stupid enough to not believe you when you tell them. I was just always myself there. Everyone knows where they stand with me.'
no subject
He shakes his head, then leans forwards to kiss Ramon, reaching for the shampoo and trying to lather Ramon's hair in turn as the shower rinses his own.
"You know me too well, except not really, there's no such thing. Show you everything if I could. But it's a grand game. I just get caught in it, sometimes, and after this long being back to this is like a breath of air."
His fingers massage Ramon's scalp, tenderly, carefully.
"I'd like you to watch them."
Sometimes Random gets the feeling Ramon still doesn't realize the casual killer he has in his bed.
no subject
For the time being though, he just enjoys the caring touch in his hair and starts soaping Random's chest in return.
'We'll know everything, eventually. Probably. Going to spend so much time together, how could we not?'
He grins a little mischeviously.
'I'll have to stay around, just to make sure you don't get caught on the path of truth and righteousness. That would be awful. You might find religion or something.'
Will never happen.
no subject
He tugs Ramon forwards to was the soap out, positioning him under the spray with a grin.
"Tonight? Or in the morning. For the tapes."
Random likes killing the way he likes most of his vices. He doesn't like seeing it hurt people, he doesn't like the idea of it very much, and he doesn't appreciate it when people around him do it careless. The same way he felt about sleeping with Ramon, when he first came to the bar.
But here he is, ten months later, wrapped in his vice's arms. And here he is, nine thousand years later, body practically singing with the rush of spilt blood.
no subject
'I'll protect you, don't worry,' he says magnanimously, rinsing to soap from his hair and then turning Random round.
'Here, I'll do your back. And...in the morning, I think. I want to be awake enough to appreeciate them fully.'
no subject
And he will. Random isn't going to be able to sleep much tonight at all.
"Back's a little sore anyways. Had to sit bent for a little while. Rub it a little, please? I was on a filing cabinet. And then on a dresser, but you know that part."
no subject
He rubs in gentle circles, trying to ease any stiffness or pain there might be. He's careful to make sure his hands are soapy and won't chafe.
'What were you doing on a filing cabinet?'
no subject
Which they obviously had.
"It worked. It got a little old, but it worked."
no subject
He wraps his arms around Random's waist and rests his chin on his shoulder, holding him close and letting the soap find its own way off them.
'No one saw you, did they? I don't want anyone coming after you for it.'
no subject
He kisses the corner of Ramon's mouth, rather touched.
"I took all sorts of care."
no subject
Very glad about that. The last thing he wants is Random having problems. He knows he didn't want his position at the club affected by Ramon moving in on the city and he's trying to keep that in mind.
'Come to bed then. I'll tell you about the ranch I bought. Or in the morning, if you're tired.'
no subject
He tugs him out of the shower and reaches for a towel to wrap around him.
"Will you take me riding?"
no subject
Lucky they have advantages then. He has no qualms about cheating.
'It's about an hour away. Nice. Still on the coast so there are some good views of the sea, and runs inland for acres. Not huge, but big enough.'
He'd been contemplating giving it to Random as an anniversary/birthday present. But it's going to be one of many fronts for the drug business, so it wouldn't really be the most appropriate gift. Besides, Random seems to like the city and its clubs. He'll have to think of something else.
no subject
He likes horses, though. He thinks they're powerful. Great. He also recalls vaguely that when playing with Jung, Ramon's thoughts had been that horses were his favourite animals.
"We'll ride up and down it together, and then have sex on the beach, then ride up and down it again just for fun."
no subject
Though he grins because is he complaining? Hell no.
'You are right though, it should be a good cover. A man could even make a good living out of a legitimate business with it.'
Though he's not going to. He's not like that.
no subject
But that'd be so, so boring."
Ramon concentrates on towelling them off for a moment, then draws him towards the bedroom.
"Tomorrow will you take me and Martin to the beach again? It'd be nice to have another day in the sun."
no subject
From murder to a day at the beach with his son. Random in a nutshell, really.
'I can drink wine with diamonds in it now. You're right though. Boring as hell.'
He sinks into bed comfortably and holds out a hand to Random.
'Come and sleep. Or try, at least.'
He knows what adrenaline can be like after a fight.
no subject
He crawls in after him, and leans back against the pillows with a happy sigh.
"Roll over? I want to work at the muscles in your shoulders for a bit. Can't be nice, having them cuffed like that, squirming like you were. Tell me about Texorami, and what the next steps are. Do we get to take over the club I was at?"
no subject
'You're good to me. And...maybe. The point wasn't to buy them out though. It was just to break up a few big distribution venues and take out some big players, so everything's confused. While they're trying to sort themselves out, I'll step in with my stuff. By the time they've got everything stable again, I'll be too secure to be got rid of.'
And because it's only fair to warn him...
'Whoever fills in for the dead guys will try to kill me, once they know who did it. Just so you know.'
no subject
It's true. He's alive, isn't he?
Random swings a leg across to straddle Ramon's back, and then resting comfortably reaches to work at the muscles that might be complaining.
"Where're you getting the actual drugs? Earth? Or are you working with producers on Texorami?"
no subject
Either one of them ending up dead? So not a good thing.
'On Texorami, mostly. For the time being anyway. I've been trying to work out ways of using my own stuff grown on Earth and distributing it on Texorami, but I'll have to find a way to get it through Portugal without drawing attention if I do that. So, I don't know. I'll think on it a bit.'
