OOM: Black tie evening

So, it hasn't been the best vacation so far. It had had potential, and then it had sucked. But Ramon is determined that the time away isn't going to be a complete waste - and he's rather good at sweeping emotion under the rug and ignoring it, when he wants to.

And so, the sight in their dingy little motel room is rather innocuous. The place is more used to seeing hookers and junkies - but tonight, it gets two men getting ready to go out and dressing in tuxedos.

If the good mood is a little forced, then Ramon hopes it'll be better once they're out. Is determined to try.

'Nearly ready?'

"For anything."

Random is in a good mood, unfeigned, because he's just seen Ramon in his tuxedo. Plans of molestation are dancing in his head. Like sugarplums, except that's a poem and this is rather more fun.

Straightening his own collar;

"You look nice."

Ramon's trying to tie his bowtie in the mirror and cursing as he can't get it to his liking. He's picky about such things.

'Fucking thing.'

But he does glance across at Random and smile.

'And you're stunning.'

He really is. He could hardly not be, dressed in one of these.

"You're crooked."

Nimble fingers reach for Ramon's tie, and straighten it gently.

"And now you're perfect in every way, shape and form. I wish I could be on your arm. One day I'll take you somewhere where I will. I wish I could flaunt you, you gorgeous thing. I got you. Don't know how, but mine."

Yours? Yeah. I am. Wish I could say the same about you now.

He thinks it before he can stop it, then shoves it away. Because tonight is not going to be about that.

'You got me. I got you too, so it's a fair trade.'

He adjusts the tie a little more, then kisses Random briefly.

'Thank you. OK, there's a limo coming for us. We shouldn't keep it waiting, not in this neighbourhood.'

Stupid really, drawing attention with a car like that. But you can't go out in a tuxedo without a limo, he thinks. It's just wrong.

If Random goes for the door a little quicker than he normally would, it's not because he caught it, it's because he knows the car's there.

"Okay then. Lets go."

He takes the stairs leading to the road at a quick jog, not glancing over his shoulder to see if Ramon's following.

'Yeah.'

He internally sighs, because Random caught it and he knows he did and now they're both going to pretend he didn't. But that's OK. No, really. Tonight is going to be fun.

He picks up his wallet and the room key, locks the door and heads after him, ignoring the look of abject 'wtf?' from another guest who's stumbling down the corridor, staring at the weirdo in a penguin suit.

Warm night. But not too bad. Nice. He lights a cigarette as soon as he gets in the car.

Random slides his hand through Ramon's as soon as he's in, and steals his cigarette with a soft laugh, already smiling again.

"Direct away. Where are we going again?"

'Driver knows. I told them when I booked.'

He's already lighting a second cigarette because he knew Random would steal the first. Then he relaxes back into the seat, very aware of Random's hand through his.

'Going to be a long night. I don't get to wear a tux often these days, I'm going to take advantage of it.'

"I don't get to see you in a tux very often. I want to take advantage of you. Be a little less than subtle though, me watching you from all that ways away."

He already knows he won't be able to take his eyes off Ramon.

He smiles and raises Random's hand so he can kiss his knuckles.

'Likewise. We should do this more often. But I guess I wouldn't want to lose the novelty.'

He looks out of the window, at people staring at the car. Not often one of these is seen around here, if ever.

'You can take advantage of me later.' He smirks. 'Promise I won't stop you.'

"I will," he says, managing to lean in as the car sways around a corner, reaching for the window on the other side of him, and under the pretext of opening it slightly, brushes his lips against Ramon's jaw before pulling away.

"You know I will."

'Mmmm.'

The slight kiss gets a smile and he starts to enjoy himself for real, not just pretending. The prospect of an evening of not really being able to touch Random is...both enticing and frustrating.

'As long as you don't mind me returning the favour.'

"I'm relying on it. I don't know if our room has anything that'll work like a table, or if we'll just have to go at it on the floor..."

He cuts off the train of thought with a contemplative hum.

"We'll see."

Ramon looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

'...making plans, baby?'

If he is, he likes the sound of them.

'There's still the bed, or are you looking to mix things up a bit?'

"I think we need to do some more fucking across something hard. And I don't fancy too much rug burn. I'd blow you on a rug, but all out sex? Eh."

He leans back against his window, managing a straight face.

"Bathroom tiles?"

'Thought you didn't like blowing me?'

It's a question because he's kind of hoping that Random's changed his mind on that. Not holding his breath though. And it's OK.

'Bathroom's not that clean. I don't mind though. If there's sex, you know I'm not fussy.'

So true.

"I can do it."

He reaches for Ramon's hand once more.

"It's OK. I'm getting used to it again."

'You don't have to. I did tell you that, right?'

At the moment, he'd promise Random that he never had to do it again if it would make him happyand stayand keep this evening stress-free.

'If you don't want to get used to it, don't do it. It's OK.'

"No, I know that. I wouldn't be trying if I didn't want to, you've always been clear about all of that. I just dislike it for reasons that aren't enough to make me stop wanting to make you feel good in very way possible."

He glances up at the glass separating them from the driver, and then speculatively at Ramon.

"On the way back?"

'Well, it does feel good. Really good.'

Subtle encouragement, he feels. But no pressure. And he grins.

'If you like. I won't stop you - be warned that'll you get it paid back tenfold afterwards.'

Tragedy!

"I think I can live with that."

And things would no doubt get dirtier there, if they weren't fast approaching the destination.

'Thought you'd manage, somehow.'

He grins and looks out of the darkened window, hiding a grimace. Bloody art shit. But he thought Random night like it.

'OK. First stop, art museum thing. Your sort of deal. And then dinner, and then dancing. Sound alright?'

He'd be content with a bar and the football on TV. But he's making an effor because things have to be put right, a little. If they can be.

"Oh God yes."

He'll love it.

"It sounds perfect. Is this the place?"

He looks out again. There are other people all dressed up and a few other limos. And, as is wont to happen, people watching the people in limos.

He leans forward and tells the driver to keep going for a few blocks. No sense being gawped at when they can walk in unnoticed with a bit of care.

'Yeah, this is it.'

He squeezes Random's hand once before releasing it. Won't be able to touch him again for most of the rest of the evening.

Random lets his fingers linger on Ramon's, he can't bear himself to pull away just yet, and sits in the limo a moment longer, breathing the moment in.

"Thank you. In case we're having sex later and I forget to say it. Thank you."
