OOM: Jail, Week 5

Blood drips off knuckles that have split from the force of the punch. His chest heaves with deeply drawn breaths of fury, the veins stand out on his neck from the force of his anger. Black eyes flash and his features twist in a snarl as he points viciously at the man lying on the ground with blood pouring from his nose.

'Come near me again and I'll rip your fucking throat out!'

'I only wanted to bum a smoke amigo!'

That earns Juan a heavy boot to the ribs and the younger man curls, winded and choking for air as guards rush across the yard to subdue the scuffle.

Ramon thinks maybe he has a flair for the acting game after all. You'd be proud Random.

He's dragged off, gaining himself a nightstick in the solar plexus in the meantime, which effectively winds him too. There's no preamble, they don't even wait to cuff his hands and feet again when they re-enter the building. He's thrown into solitary without so much as a word...Ramon grins. Worked to perfection.

He waits until things have calmed down outside, lying on the bunk in an effort to appear as though he's chilling and recovering from the hit he took. Eventually he rolls onto his side and slips out the folded bit of paper Juan had dropped into his shirt pocket during the staged fight. It's tightly rolled, could conceivably be thought of as trash. But most definitely isn't.

It's unwrapped slowly, although there's no signs of anyone around. Which is sort of the point of solitary, and the second reason that he'd made sure to hit the kid hard enough to land him here. He angles his body away from where the hatch opens in the steel door, hoping that there are no concealed cameras as well as the obvious ones. No matter, really. The paper's small enough to hide in his palm and he'll eat it afterwards. He'll have to, they took his lighter.

And then his attention is drawn to the words written in Hector's tight hand, and he starts to grin.

Ramon

The guard, Benson, has been relieved of his son. His name is Jeremy, he's four. Wife's name is Carol. Juan has told us that you're thinking of changing counsel - advise doing this before the 22nd.

As per instructions, plan is in motion to move away from Luiz. He's always been a pain in the ass anyway. Benson will help with accommodations. You know when.

Ramon smiles more and starts ripping the note up in bits small enough to swallow. It's clear enough - he'll be out on the 22nd - next week. He even laughs a bit at that. Not just at the thought of freedom but at the look on Annicon's face.

Luiz Annicon has been a thorn in his side for years. He's a straight arrow and made it something of a personal issue to take Ramon and his business down. Apparently he lost a few family members to the drug trade - Ramon couldn't care less. Whatever the vendetta, the man's good at what he does, and he'd give anything to see the Salazar cartel go down. He's been subtly gloating in his face since Bauer brought him in and if there's one thing that Ramon can't stand, it's being lorded over.

He doesn't want this man after him once he's out. He has to be taken care of, just like the lawyer who now knows too much. That one's no problem, Ramon knows exactly how to get rid of him. Luiz is more complicated - or rather, was. Benson had been vetted by Hector for a while, he's a devoted family man and his son is the apple of his eye. He'll kill for him, there's no doubt. It's just about the right timing.

Ramon chews slowly on the paper, thinking things over. It's getting close now and there's a lot of details to go through. He just wishes he knew more about the leverage Hector was using to get him out. Getting out of the country was easy...what's difficult is getting out of his cell. He's been assured that it's all taken care of but hasn't been told exactly what. Just that he'll be told as soon as possible - maybe right when it happens. He doesn't like that but really doesn't have a choice but to trust his younger brother - it's an unusual feeling for him. But if it'll get him out of this place, he'll cope.

He stretches out to sleep after his makeshift meal of paper, a smile on his face. It'll work out. And then he'll be home. To either one. There's a rogue thought, that maybe the month in the bar is almost up and he might see Random soon. It's banished quickly though because he's not going to think about it.

But secretly, in the back of his mind, the anticipation grows.

Soon.
