Ramon's waiting around by the stables, smoking a cigarette and trying to keep warm. The animal had arrived an hour ago and he'd stayed with it to make sure it wasn't freaked - which it was, because rides through Shadow tend to do that to a creature.

Still, he's settled down now and Ramon's just waiting for Gorlim to show up so he can introduce him to his Christmas present.

Bastard's late.

Gorlim hoots and pounces Ramon in a hug that ends with a manly noogie just to keep it, you know, rough enough and all that.

"Oh, he's wonderful, Ramon! Where did you get him??" He looks back at the horse, again scratching his nose and his forehead and patting his strong neck. "And how do you say that in spanish, Happy Christmas?"

Gorlim slides the stall door open and circles the animal slowly, inspecting his tail, his mane, the pattern of black and white on his coat, his hooves, the thick feathers...

...feathers.

He grins.

"Rhofal," he says, feeling the horse's thick shoulder muscles. "This means... ah... pinion?" He isn't entirely sure if that's the right word in the right language to translate. "The feathers used for flying. On the tip of the wings." Spreading his fingers, he traces a pattern as his his arms were wings. Flight feathers.

"Aye, what four-year-old doesn't? Don't worry, I've trained my share of horses. He'll do fine. Get him to look after my Kelly too, when SHE'S older." He grins. "He's a good one, Ramon. Thank you. Truly."

Gorlim nods, beaming at the animal. He cautiously wraps his arms around Rhofal's neck and puts his weight against him to test his strength.

Rhofal does not seem to notice much. Gorlim laughs at him.

"The biggest ones often are the sweetest. He seems nice. I'll find Caspian and have a talk with him. He's grand, Ramon. Tell Random I said thanks, too, if you see him before I do."

"Ramon... I have more than I need." He smiles. "Thank you."
